ANNUAL MEETING & BOARD NOMINATIONS The Annual Meeting has been rescheduled for August 27, at 7 p.m. Depending on the requirements for health and safety at that time, the meeting will likely have an in-person component at the clubhouse and an online option. Please stay tuned for more details. Board nominations are open until June 24. We are looking for up to 3 new Board members this year. Proxies and ballots will be mailed at the beginning of July.
FACILITIES UPDATE
Despite entering Phase 2 as soon as this Friday, the restrictions on the facilities owned by the Association, including the pool, clubhouse, playgrounds, and recreational courts, make it impractical to reopen at this time. The Board continues to monitor the developing and rapidly changing landscape of various health, safety, and other considerations and strives to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so for all residents.
BULK PICKUP MONITORING The Association has recently invested in a camera monitoring system to help prevent illegal dumping in the community, whether this dumping is the result of residents placing bulk trash outside and failing to arrange a pickup or outsiders coming in and illegally dumping on Association property. In April alone, over $4,000 had to be spent to remove bulk pickup items and we are dedicated to stopping this issue. This is money that could have been spent on playground improvements, landscaping, or pool furniture. Please help us prevent future dumping by reporting the address or license plate of anyone dumping in the community.
NIGHT PAVING ON BATTLEFIELD
The Town of Leesburg is planning on beginning paving and milling on several sections of Battlefield Parkway on June 10 from 7 p.m. through 7 a.m. The work area is expected to start in the East Bound lanes of Battlefield Parkway from the Bypass to Smarts Lane, as well as other sections between Sycolin Road and Kincaid Boulevard. Please be alert to traffic changes and be cautious around workers.
Monthly Minutes In accordance with emergency legislation allowing Homeowners Associations to suspend the need for in-person meetings during a state-of-emergency, and given the nature of the emergency that makes it impracticable and unsafe to assemble in a single location at this time, all Board meetings were held electronically and notification was provided by email.
