Dear Neighbors,
There is a lot going on in Exeter. Here are a few items to share from the board:
Exciting News: We are revitalizing our Social Committee!
COVID really did a number on the feeling of community. To help bring us all back together, we are planning quarterly events. We hope you will join join us for the first event on November 15th at the Clubhouse. Check out our website https://www.exeterhoa.com/ and the “Residents of Exeter” FB page for details for this event and future events!
If you would like to help the social committee host an event at the clubhouse, please complete this interest survey: https://forms.gle/FYdBtBZRZe4mmmRu6 . Many hands make light work. We look forward to joining together with you to revitalize Exeter’s feeling of community.
DUMPING:
There was a big increase in dumping in 2025. Items dumped include all manner of yard waste dumped in common areas: branches, bushes, weeds, grass clippings; furniture of all kinds, and bags of trash. Dumping costs the association money and devalues our community. In 2025 so far, the association has spent just over $3,000 to clean up dumping, and will spend another $500 for recent landscape dumping. For context, $3,500 is roughly one-third of the cost to fully redo the landscaping around one monument on the Battlefield Parkway entrance to Exeter (near Ida Lee).
Please be a kind neighbor and do your part to contain costs by putting yard waste in bags or cans for collection, and following the Town guidelines for branches which are collected weekly curbside.
PICKLEBALL:
Would you like a pickleball court? If you haven’t walked by the resurfaced basketball and tennis ball courts near the pool, you should check them out! They are beautiful! Right between them is a multi-use court that needs some work. Several neighbors have expressed a desire for this to become a pickle ball court.
Do you like this idea or do you have other suggestions for the space? We would appreciate your feedback by November 30th on this survey: https://forms.gle/R6ysDPb1ePwjUY7c8 We especially value input from our neighbors nearby, because the courts are closest to you: Ginger and Jared Square., Lynchburg, Radford, Blacksburg and Covington Terrace.
We appreciate your feedback!
Sincerely,
The Exeter HOA Board of Directors
