NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Keep Grass Clippings Green

As we move into fall, the grass won't need mowed as often but it's still important to practice good practices to keep our storm drains clear and reduce the burden on surrounding ponds and waterways. Grass clippings that get blown into the streets and parking lots will make their way into storm drains and eventually into the local waterways. These extra grass clippings can throw off the balance of chemicals in those water bodies, increasing algae, and causing increasing issues to species living in them. Please make sure to bag your grass clippings and leave them out on Mondays for Town of Leesburg pickup crews.

Be Kind, Park Kind

Especially in townhomes, parking can be a pain! But recently we have been getting increasing reports of homeowners, especially those with disabilities and the elderly, being forced to park further and further from their homes. One resident who was over 70 reported having to park 2 streets away, carrying groceries home in the dark. If you have more than 2 vehicles or are having guests to your home, please consider asking them to park in available parking not directly in front of other's homes. In an ideal world, parking would bountiful and neighbors would be considerate, but we all know parking is limited. So please take a moment to consider being kind! August Meeting Summary

The following select actions were taken at the latest meetings. Full minutes are available here.

  • The Board approved proposals for asphalt trail and sidewalk repairs.

  • A proposal to repair the pool white coat was not approved.

  • Proposals for dead tree removal throughout the community were sent to the Grounds Committee for review.

  • Playground inspections were approved and should be conducted over the next month or two.

  • FY 2022 budget options were discussed, including a potential dues increase.

  • New officers were elected for the remainder of the 2021 fiscal year.
