Pool Information
 
 


There is no better place to relax than by the pool. In Exeter, the pool is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day for you, your family, adn your friends to take a relaxing dip. Pool pass registration forms are mailed out to homeowners in late March or early April of each year. Residents should mail back their forms to receive a new pool pass sticker for each year.

 Every day from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
 
 
  • Applications received prior to May 1 will be available at the pool by opening day. Applications received after May 1 may take  up to two weeks for processing.
  • All residents over the age of 3 need to have their own pool pass. Pool passes should be given to the lifeguards at check in and retrieved before leaving. 
  • Aside from Memorial Day weekend, when residents may show their government-issued ID with an Exeter address, pool passes are required for everyone at all times.
  • Replacement passes cost $5 each.
  • Each resident receives 10 guest wristbands each year. Guests are required to wear these while at the pool and remove them before leaving. Wristbands are for a single visit only.
  • Keep your pool pass from year to year. When you submit your form you will get a new annual sticker.
Pool Rules
 
Rules and regulations: The following rules, regulations, and procedures are for the protection and benefit of all persons and to ensure safe and sanitary operation of the swimming pool and facilities. They were established and approved by the Exeter Homeowners Association (HOA) Board of Directors. Members, children, and guests are required to observe these pool rules, procedures and regulations and to obey the instructions of the lifeguards. It is the responsibility of the member to inform their children and guests to observe these rules. Failure to comply with the pool rules, regulations, and procedures are sufficient cause for removal from the pool area, denial of entry to the pool, and/or suspension of pool privilege(s) by the lifeguard on duty or the Pool Manager.
 
Lifeguard Authority: The lifeguard has the authority to suspend an individual’s pool privileges for the day for any infraction of these rules. Neither Exeter HOA nor the lifeguards are responsible for care or monitoring of anyone denied swimming pool privileges. Subsequent action may be taken by the Exeter HOA Board of Directors, which may include revoking an individual’s pool privileges for any length of time, including the remainder of the pool season. Eviction or suspension of pool privileges for noncompliance of the rules by a member or their guest shall not entitle such member to a refund of membership fee, in whole or in part.
 
Break Times: The pool will close to all patrons for two breaks of 20 minutes each, from 12:40 – 1:00 pm and 4:40-5:00 pm. Patrons are expected to exit the pool promptly. These breaks are a replacement of the hourly 15 minute breaks of previous seasons.
 
Health Warning: For the health and safety of all bathers and in accordance with recommendations by the U.S Department of Health and Human Service's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is recommended that all bathers shower before entering the pool.
 
Eagles at Exeter Swim Team Schedule: The pool will close early and, in some cases, open late on days when the swim team conducts swim meets. The schedule is posted at the pool.
 
Emergency closure: Management will close the pool in an emergency and for health reasons. In cases of severe weather (to include thunderstorms, lightning, heavy winds, etc. or thunder) the pool and deck areas will be cleared. The pool will reopen 30 minutes after the severe weather has ceased.
 
Safety Considerations and Procedures
  1. The pool will only be used when it is officially opened and lifeguards are on duty.
  2. Any person using the swimming pool will dress in appropriate swimwear.
  3. Any person using the pool should be in good health. Patrons with colds, coughs, inflammation of the eyes, wearing bandages, having an infection or open sore or other physical condition that may affect the health and welfare of other patrons, will refrain from using the pool.
  4. Children who are not toilet trained and incontinent patrons are required to wear “swim diapers” under their swimsuits. Caregivers must frequently check swim diapers.
  5. Lap lanes (one to two) are provided for lap swimming or lap exercise (to include walking/jogging) during pool operating hours (closed for the two 20 minute breaks). If these lanes are in use for these activities, please refrain from interfering with the swimmers.
  6. Members are responsible for paying the cost of any property damage caused by the member, their children, or their guests.
  7. To ensure safety, children under ten (10) years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person at all times within the pool area. A responsible person must be at least sixteen (16) years of age that has passed the swim test.

Rules and Regulations
  1. No running, pushing, dunking, spitting water, or rough play will be permitted in the swimming pool or the pool deck. Standing or sitting on another person’s shoulders is not permitted. Diving into the swimming pool is prohibited.
  2. Persons unable to demonstrate their ability to swim properly to the lifeguards are not permitted in the water beyond shoulder depth without being accompanied by a responsible person. A responsible person must be someone who is at least sixteen (16) years of age and that has passed a swim test.
  3. Glass containers, breakable objects, and alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the pool area. Food and beverages may be consumed in designated areas, but are not allowed in or near the pool.
  4. No intoxicated persons are allowed in the swimming pool or the swimming pool area.
  5. Portable playpens are permitted in designated areas as long as they do not obstruct use of the area by other patrons or obstruct the lifeguards view. Strollers must be in a locked position, if possible, adjacent to a table or the fence line and may not obstruct any walking or open areas.
  6. Flotation devices that obscure / impede the vision of the life guards are prohibited at all times. All other toys shall not impede safety, health, or fair use of the pool.
  7. No smoking, pets, or gum chewing are allowed in the pool area.
  8. All refuse must be placed in designated containers.
  9. Only authorized staff are permitted in the manager’s office, filtration room, and designated areas.
  10. Members and guest will not distract lifeguards or otherwise impede them in performing their duties.
  11. All persons using the swimming pool and in the swimming pool area shall conduct themselves in a manner so as not to disrupt or impair the use and enjoyment of the swimming pool by others. Profanity or vulgar language is strictly prohibited.
  12. Any injuries that occur on the premises must be reported immediately to the pool manager or lifeguard on duty
  13. Deliberate property damage caused by a member, their family, children, and/or guests will be charged to the registered pool member. All damages must be repaired and all outstanding payments for damages must be resolved prior to re-admittance to the pool.
  14. No barbecue grills are allowed in the pool area, adjoining parking lots, at the clubhouse, playground or nearby facilities unless they receive prior approval by the Board of Directors for special functions and/or community activities.
  15. The pool may be closed and the deck cleared in the event of inclement weather, to include:
    1. Air temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
    2. Lighting or thunderstorms.
    3. Precipitation that prevents or blocks observation of the bottom of the pool.
    4. Any other climatic conditions that may endanger pool users or the staff.
  16. Closing the pool will be at the discretion of the lifeguard and pool management company, after notification to the Managing Agent. The pool will reopen thirty (30) minutes following the cessation of inclement weather. If the storm occurs after 7PM, the pool will be closed for the evening.
  17. With regards to the parking lot, adjacent parking areas, and access lanes:
    1. The maximum speed limit is 5 MPH in the parking areas and driveways.
    2. Bicycle riders are to use the racks provided for parking bicycles.
    3. The parking lot is only for those using the pool, nearby and other Exeter HOA facilities.
    4. No overnight parking is permitted.
    5. No parking is allowed in the fire lanes between the Pool House and Clubhouse.
    6. All traffic signs on the premises should be obeyed at all times.
  18. Exeter HOA does not provides toys, towels, or any other objects for use by residents in the pool area. Please be mindful that any objects in the pool area likely belong to another resident. Theft will be reported to the proper authorities. If you find an object that is not yours, please give it to the lifeguard for lost and found.
Membership Regulations and Procedures
  1. Membership to the pool is open to all homeowners of Exeter HOA and Fox Chase Condominiums, in good standing and who possess a valid pool pass. Optional membership will be offered to the owners of homes in Exeter I annually during an enrollment period set by the Exeter HOA Board of Directors. Owners of Exeter I who have purchased an optional membership and possess a valid pool pass are also identified as members.
  2. Membership to the pool will be established by submitting a completed application form to Property Management People, Inc. (Managing Agent), which is located at 552 Fort Evans Road, Suite 202, Leesburg, VA 20176.
  3. Nonresident owners who desire pool privileges may obtain passes and thereby will deny access to the pool for their tenant(s). The owner who wishes to transfer their pool privileges to a tenant should sign the application as instructed and forward to the tenant so that they may register for a pool membership.
  4. Upon receipt of a completed application form, membership eligibility will be verified as to the status of assessments and architectural or covenant violations. Pool passes will then be issued to each individual living in the household (a household will consist of all persons living in a unit for more than six (6) months of the year).
  5. Pool passes a non-transferable. Passes will be inspected by a lifeguard or an attendant at the entrance of the pool. Pool passes will be issued to all persons age 3 and older. Children ages three (3) to nine (9) years of age will be issued passes without a photo. Children ages ten (10) thru fifteen (15) will be issued a pass with a photo only after a swim test is passed.
  6. Passes are the responsibility of the individual members. Neither the Association nor the pool staff is responsible for lost passes or passes left overnight. A $5 fee will be charged for each replacement pass.
  7. Pool passes will not be issued and admittance will be denied to homeowners (or their tenants) who are delinquent in the payment of assessments, including interest, late fees and legal charges. Pool passes will not be issued and admittance will be denied to homeowners (and their tenants) with outstanding covenants violations or whom in the process of the Architectural Review Board (ARB) for an improvement already constructed or in the process of being constructed has cited for a failure to request approval. The Association may revoke the pool pass if a reasonable effort is not being made by the homeowner (or the tenant) to comply with the ruling of the ARB. Any resident may appeal this decision by requesting a hearing with the Board of Directors.
  8. Members who have been denied admittance to the pool may not be admitted as the guest of another member.
  9. Residents and guests are required to sign in upon admittance to the pool. Guards are required to provide the management agent with the completed sign in sheets at the end of each week.
Guest Regulations and Procedures
  1. A guest is defined as any person not an owner, resident, or tenant with transferred pool privileges of Exeter HOA, Exeter I or Fox Chase. All guests must be accompanied by a resident member at all times while using the facility. Guests ages ten (10) years and younger must be accompanied at all times by a responsible pool member age sixteen (16) years or older.
  2. Each household will be issued one sheet of guest passes (wrist bands), containing ten (10) passes, that are valid for a one day individual visit for the current season only. Additional guests passes can be purchased in sheets of ten (10) for $20 with your registration form or from Property Management People, Monday - Friday from 9AM - 5PM.Only checks will be accepted and no guest passes will be sold at the pool. All guest passes are valid for the current season only.
  3. If ordering guest passes by mail, please include a check for the required amount made payable to Exeter Homeowners Association, c/o Property Management People Inc., 552 Fort Evans Road, Suite 202, Leesburg, VA 20176. Do NOT send cash
  4. Members are limited to not more than five (5) guests at any time in the pool; including day-care providers.
  5. The lifeguards may prohibit the admittance of guests when pool capacity meets or exceeds the posted maximum bather load.
